public schools teachers have too many children to properly teach..which is a shame! I think if I have the resources to send my daughter to a private school that would help her and support her ..that is the way I am going to go...I sent my son to private school when he started high school before that in middle school he did very poorly since he than he has graduated from High school and attended college he has been on the deans list...and this kid struggled!. Home schooling would be my second choice.

if i could afford a private school i would send my son there, but hopefully ill finish my career soon,so when it's time for him to go to school i can send him to private one, public schools are overcrowded and i don't feel kids get the attention they need to learn;when i was in school the teacher would not pay attention when i had questions, always busy with others in class:(

I had my 11yr old in public school until about a year and a half ago. I looked into private schools because my son was constantly being picked on- and not much was done about it. I ended up sending him to a charter school instead. It didn't have the price tag of a private school, but they were much more focused on education. And any one who could not maintain a C average or became a disipline problem would have to go back to their public school. He loves it and it's free!

If I had the money I would send my children to private school. I think that some public schools are ok I went to public schools and they were great, so did my husband. If we lived in a bad area I would home school my children. My mother home schooled her 4 youngest and it worked out great for the children but my mom said she was going crazy having them home all day and is now sending the last three to a charter school.

I just feel my kids need the social interaction with kids their age-so homeschooling would not be an option. The closest private school to us is about 20 miles away,so not an option either. Truth? My husband knew a lot of kids from the private school in his city and he said the kids there were more party freaks than the kids in the other 3 schools.

Read Dumbing Us Down: the hidden agenda of compulsory education by John Taylor Gatto, a former award winning teacher, and you wouldn't be able to DREAM of sending your kids to school!
