my daughter is 12 1/2 years younger than my son. So my friends I have now (my son was born in a different state) wanted to have one for me since I was "starting over" no big items on my list just clothes and small things.

Even though my children are only one year apart my mother in law threw a baby shower for our son's birth. My cousin threw the baby shower for our daughter who is the oldest. My family loves throwing parties for every thing. Everyone in the family gets to have a birthday party every year no matter what the age. We looked at it as a celebration of new life coming into this world and into our family. We didn't have any large things either, people only bought things like clothes because it was a different gender and our son got a few toys, we also got things that would make it easier for us to travel with the two children because everyone knew that we travel every weekend in the summer up to our cottage up north, Those gifts have come in very handy. My friends mother had two baby showers too because her oldest was twenty one and her daughter was thirteen when when she got pregnant for her last child. It was a wonderful shower and a lot of fun.
