I wasn't real clear on the question but my daughter is 22 mo old and only says da da for her dad, ma ma for me and pa pa for her great grandpa. She also says things that may be ba ba and I am pretty sure she is saying a garbled "what's that" since whenever she says it she is pointing at something. She talks alot in what I would call her own made up language because she has a whole conversation with her much younger brother and the cat. Her dad and I have no clue what she is talking about. She understands what we tell her though. I have met many mothers recently that have two year olds that arent talking either, so I wouln't worry about it too much.

My son had speech delays untill he went to pre-school. We had his hearing tested and it was fine. Sometimes they just need a little time. We found the more he was around kids in school the better he did. Sometimes they need to be around people their own age to catch on. Even the speech therepist was not helping much, I'm telling you, kids his age is what brought him around!
