I worked in retail for so long that it was pounded into us to say happy holidays. I do love to hear merry christmas when someone says it. Why do we have to be so pc about everything all the time?

I live in a multi-cultural and multi-religious environment, and I don't know why I should forget that once a year!

It gets blown out of proportion when people get upset about the language....

I think this is the silliest argument ever - why argue about something happy?

I got offended when I see everything BUT the word Christmas! I have nothing at all against other holidays (I actually think it's great to believe and celebrate something rather than nothing), but I shouldn't have to keep my faith "hush hush" around others. I'm proud to believe in Christ...it's my right and my freedom to do so, and I think Christmas should be acknowledged just as much as the other holidays.

Christmas is Christ's birthday so why would I call it anything else.

I realize that not everyone agrees but why is it that christians have to give things up? Christmas is the only holiday that people seem to have a problem with and I don't understand that at all.

Anne - People probably have a problem with it because it's so commercialized. I don't agree with all the hype that Christmas has become...people tend to forget the true meaning, but I do feel it's unfair that I can't see the word Christmas in print, or on TV...

I have been a Pagan for 14 years...I *do not* have a problem with people wishing me a Merry Christmas.

Christmas as it is celebrated (Tree, gifts, caroling, Santa (yea...I said Santa) gathering friends & family, etc) are all traditions of the Pagan holiday Yule among other religious holidays as well.

The comercialization disgusts me...how Santa, the nativity, and Christmas in general has become a product is sickening!

This time is for being thankful for who & what you are blessed to have in your life & giving to those less fortunate...it *is not* about who can buy the most or get the most up to date item.

Also the muting the labels for the season is idiotic! The Christmas Tree, Wreaths, Santa, Candy Canes, Nativity, etc. are all shared symbols of diffrent faiths for this time of year. The people who choose to not believe in anything have that right...but don't take the same right from the majority that hold these symbols dear.

Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Boxing Day, or Happy December...what ever you call it...have a good one ^_^

I love Christmas and all aspects of it and it's Christmas to me. I don't understand why people want to change it. We're supposed to be PC now, but why are Christians out of that PC world. I think you should call it as you believe...I celebrate Christ all year round why change that and give it up for the main holiday?

In my home I believe in god my husband does not. But since its actually originally a pagan holiday not holy day taken WAY out of what it originally was its not typically religiously discussed in our home. We both love christmas and have our own way of celebrating. I think all should feel free to celebrate the way they feel without drama from someone being narrow minded and/or rude. "To each his own an may we all learn to respect even what we dont agree!"

i believe we should say merry christmas because some people do not celebrate love and yet we say "happy Valentines day" not happy holiday.
