Poll: Do you think race is a factor in this election?

Race is certainly not a issue for me, but to many of my peers, surprisingly it is. It saddens me that people in 2008, educated people in some cases, still view race as a reason not to vote for someone. They will say that is not a factor, but they are being dishonest. With the problems we face both here & overseas, we should demand the best & brightest minds we can to get together & find some solutions.

I believe that for some race is the reason why they are not voting for a certain candidate. It saddens me to think that that is the only reason for their vote; people really should become more aware of the issues before they vote! And, it's not just racial in the way most perceive, I have African-American peers that are choosing their candidate based on his race likewise with some of my caucasion peers. It truly is sad!

It would be foolish to answer "no" to this question. Race should not be an issue, but of course it is for some people. Racism unfortunately is very much alive in this country still, and many people will not vote for a black president. This is sad, mostly because I feel there is no comparison between the two canidates as far as who would make a better President. GO OBAMA!

Of course it is and its very sad to see that in this day and age people are still so naive and stuck in their ways that they would let race effect their vote. Everyone and I mean EVERYONES needs to listen to what the canidates are saying and make an informed decision on who will do better for our country!

I agree that race should NOT be a factor, but as others have mentioned, there will unfortunately be some people who will base their vote solely on race.
