My son ped said not to start til at least 3 because boys have no interest. But we are going to buy him a potty chair for christmas and hopefully that way he will get use to it. |

I was hopping for around 2ish. He just didnt want anything to do with it. Then it was just like that. Over night. Just before he was going to be 3, he got it. Wow. You really have to make it a big deal when they go on the big boy potty. Gotta do the happy potty dance a few times, lol. |

I chose 2 and a half, but I'm sure we'll be closer to 3. My pediatrician told me that boys do train better closer to 3, so we'll see. I'm in no rush. |

My 11month old does everything on the potty since 7 month. Of course she doesn't know how to ask or go sit by herself, but she knows very well what to do when she's on it. And if we stay home all day one or two diapers is all we need. |

At 15 months my daughter would come up to me and say "Yuck, diaper", so she was well aware of her diaper being dirty. I invested in an expensive and pretty potty, which she now likes to attempt to use as a chair! LOL! She is 21 months now and she will go in the potty sometimes, but she definately lets us know when she has soiled her diaper. I'm not forcing her but I am also not being consistent with taking her. She is really good about wanting to go herself. It is not good to rush them cause it just sets them up for a longer battle once they are older. |

I chose 18 months, but I bought a potty already and started introducing it to my daughter (13 mos. old). |

I chose 18mths, but my son started himself around 15months, and was in undies at 2. He still has his days with accidents, and is in diapers at night or longer car trips, but he's not yet 2.5, so I'm hopeing to be completely done with diapers by then! |

Both my boys were potty trained by 2 1/2 even sooner for my oldest. I just introduced the potty and then after practicing on the potty took the diapers away and used lots of reinforcments. |

I see no point in picking a time to start something like this, since if you do it too soon, it is just going to be an exercise in frustration. Just pay attention to your child and do it when THEY want to since it is their body! |

I plan to start potty training my daughter and son when they are talking in full sentences and I can explain to them what the potty is for and what the feelings are when they have to go. |

We began introducing the potty when our first son was 14-15 months old. We didn't push it, and preferred to follow his lead. He potty trained himself at 2.5 - took one day, no hassles or struggles. I believe in introducing the idea early, but waiting until he's interested to really try. I do think the longer you wait, the harder it will be, though. |
