my first born was born at 35 weeks, went home in 2 days, no problems.
3 years later, my twins were born at 35 weeks. The boy went home after 2 days, no problems. the girl stayed in the nicu 2 weeks, on the vent with breathing problems. she weighed a few ounces more, but both were roughly 6 lbs at birth. you'd never know, looking at them, that she had that challenge at birth. she is, however, the one who is sensitive and allergic to everything, and the one who got croup. so i guess she is more sickly, but it's not a chronic thing. in general, they are all healthy. |

My son was born at 32 weeks. I went to the Dr's for routine check up, and was sent straight to the hospital. I was given steroid shots to help develop the baby's lungs. Two days later, I delivered c-section. I didn't see my son until the next day. He stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks. He will be turning 3 in a month, and his only delay is speech. He is very bright for a 2 year old. He is being tested and evaluated right now for possibly starting school in September so he can get speech therapy, and he is testing at a 4 year old level, in all areas except expressive speech. |

35 weeks for my son....my water broke, but I didn't have any contractions. They induced me and I had him 5hrs later. He stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks mainly for lung development and body temp issues. He just turned 3 and has been fine except for a speech delay issue. |

My son was born at 36 weeks due to me having pre-eclampsia. He did great and is healthy as ever now. 36 weeks doesn't seem that early, but he was born a whole month before I thought he would be here! |

I think preemie is not only by the month it is also by the weight.
My baby was 35 weeks, but she was 6 pounds, so she was not required to have to stay in the NICU and she was all normal stardards and we have not complications so far. She has been in the 75% of everything in her check ups.. They told me my placenta was little and it could be the cause. |

A baby is considered term if they are ar least within the last month. So saying a 36 or 37 week baby is a premie is false. Now granted they are not full term, but still term. Premie is like months early. My son was taken 3 weeks early but still term. |

my second son was born at 35 weeks! He was an emergency C-section due to pre-eclampsia. He was 4lbs 14oz. He was only in the nicu for a couple days after I left. That was due to the fact that he wasn't eating enough and he was jaundiced! But he is perfectly fine now!!!! |
