I'd like some suggestions lol. Jayden just turned 4 and he does use the big boy potty but only when we pick him up and take him there. He absolutely will not tell us when he has to go. |

That must be tough. I stopped putting diapers and training pants on my son all together. In public,@ home and on road triops.Put a plastic liner where they sit but don't tell em why.Make sure they know it is not to be moved.Asked as often as I could remember.Esspecially half hour after meal and or beverage was consumed and every time me or my husban went to the bathroom, I encouraged him to try everytime.Right before bed time try,nap time try, before road trip try.Always brought extra change of clothes where ever we went and a hidden prize in his bag only for the first week of achievement;lil snack packs or hot wheel cars.Never brought diapers due to temptation and always clapped my hands when there was a succsess and congradulated him. When I had to leave him at a baby sitters or family members I made it clear that I will not tolerate anyone interupting my potty training with diapers.Worked in a lil over a month but it was worth it.Every effort! |

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and neither one are trained. My 4 year old is slightly autistic, so any change in her body or routine is a drama scene. |

Jessie- I introduced the potty to my daughter around 1.5 just had it in the bathroom for her to sit on while I was going. I'd sing a little made up potty song. For a few weeks in the summer we went naked (she did... not 'we' really). Elmo's potty time DVD is great. I would highly recommend it.
~My daughter WAS completely potty trained but had a traumatic experience in the hospital just a few weeks ago and has regressed to diapers 24/7. Believe me, I'm not pleased with the hospital staff at all! |

Well Jessie I dont have twins but I did grow up in a home that fostered children and we had triplets for 8 months before they was adopted.
The advice my mom had for their new parents and me when i had my child is that children learn at their own pace. Do not rush it because it can back fire and make them stay in pull ups or diapers longer than it would've been not rushing around.
If you have one or better yet both curious you are on the right track.
With the 3 we had there was only one interested in it, so we concentrated on her and the rest became very interested once they realized the rewards of excitement and accomplishment and praise that their sister got.
They liked her snack reward but she would not and didn't have to share and that was the key thing so the others would want it badly and start at least trying the potty. AND they did!
One would only go on the big potty with one of those things you buy to put over the whole and she got to pick it out and the others preferred the lil potty.
They picked and we bought their favorite snacks only to be used when they potty. If there was an accident no biggie it got cleaned up.
If it was for attention we calmly explained that they can get a good treat for using the potty and there was not treat for that and they had cold wet pants that they themselves had to take off and clean their mess up.
all three was full day potty trained in 4 months and their new parents said another 8 months later night trained.
Positive no rushing and you will succeed.
Times have changed and our parents came from a time when doctors thought it was something wrong with the kid if not fully potty trained by 2 but my doctor said close to 4 to 4 and half is still okay.
I used the above tricks of my moms and my daughter was potty trained a little over 2 half.
My sister kids didn't care about the potty but would follow her to the bathroom and she would go and then wash her hands and run to the kitchen and give herself a treat for the potty but wouldn't share and about 12 days later her kids gave it a shot. Her daughter was 3 and half and she was tired of buying diapers and tried this trick last and she was happy that her daughter was fully potty trained a little after her 4th Bday.
I hope it helps you and other moms! |

For all three of my kids, I put on the calandar the week that potty training was to begin.... And I prep them a week prior in reading books and constantly asking what the whole potty thing was about even made up stupid songs that they enjoyed. Then the week of the potty training all I bought was a stool so they could get up and down and every two hours we went and tried to do the deed! At night I used towels and of course one of those mattress protectors and I made sure they went right before bed. It works... I never with all three bought any of those potty seats are chairs, just a stool so they could get up and down. The task is not easy, it drove me nuts not to be able to go anywhere for a week and if I did I was sure to bring extra clothes just in case! So I never used pull-up or those padded underwear, I wanted them aware of what they were doing! My middle child took the longest he was almost three! |

My son was almost three when he was fully potty trained. We just stopped using diapers one day and used big boy pants, we let him choose the style. Ask him all the time if he had to go and made no big deal if he had an accident just cleaned it up and went on. |
