Poll: Should boys learn to potty train standing up or...
Comments:
That wasn't really a yes or no question. But I have trained all my boys standing up. My youngest started asking to sit just before the process was complete and he then started pooping so it all worked out. All potty training has to do with the personality and readiness of the child though.
The choices really didn't fit the question, but I started my son sitting and he eventually noticed other boys standing and decided himself he was ready to do it that way too.
I think that it depends...I think with my son I will teach him first by sitting but once he's mastered that he goes in the potty I'll teach him to stand...But thats just a thought, I mean my son is only 6months so we have a long time before it comes to that...but really I think it depends
I'm just thankful he goes in the potty and not in a diaper or pull ups anymore. I'll take it anyway I can get it. Even now he is not consistent with standing or sitting, but he's consistent with using the potty. (knock on wood) Once he started going, we've never had an accident.
In all reality it can go either way. I know men who sit and men who stand and men who dependant upon the situation either sit or stand. So When it comes to a small child I guess I would teach both ways and then allow him the decision on which is more comfortable.
I have three boys and start with sitting. This way they don't have to learn the difference between the urge to pee vs poop right away and can just focus on going potty. It's also much less messy, because wherever their eyes go so does their.... Once they are 100% with the potty thing we start working on standing.

My son does which ever one he wants at that time. Sooner or later he will be standing and doing the man thing all the time. Atleast right now he is young enough to were it really doesnt matter. Soon enough he will be standing up and aimin away.
