I think that you are a strong person to handle your husband being gone for a long time. Good for you I love to see trusting wives because that just means their relationship is very soild and you just do not see that anymore people do not want to work to make anything work you know and it makes me sad to know that is the people my age who are the laziest people they want everyone to do everything for them then they get out into the real world and are completely lost? wonder why? So congrats on your awsome relationship!

I stay home and he works so I do appreciate help but to some extent. Playing while I am doing something is good enough for me. I know after a twelve hour shift of hard work and stress I probably wouldn't want to come home and give baths to the kids. So I don't expect that at out of him but if I am sick he always tells me to relax and takes over.

My husband has always taken the "second shift" since my son was born. He comes home from work and immediately takes over for me. That way I get to relax, make dinner, and catch up on some 'me' time. My husband, in turn, plays with my son, gives him a bath, and then puts him to bed. He is way less stressed out at the end of the day than I am, so I think it is best for our son to be with the less stressed out of the two of us for sleepytime!

My husband will do somethings without being asked occasionally, but for the most part he usually responses any request with "Well what would you do if I was not here?" My response has been "well you are here so you can do it!"

my husband and I work opposite shifts (I work days, he works evenings) so he takes care of our daughter until he goes to work (2pm)--he takes her to the sitter and then i pick her up at 5pm when i get off. It works out pretty well

my husband does very little around the house but we have it arranged that way right now, he is in law school and is working so I support him through this time. Law school is no walk in the park. When he is home he is in daddy mode and the kids can't get enough, I'll do the house work so he can spend his spare time with our kids.

My husban is better with our two kids than I am. I get too stressed out over the little things. He works between 40-50 hours a week as an elelctrician, and when he gets home, the kids are all over him which is fine with me- a glass of wine to calm my nerves??

LOL DB my husband is the same way and its kind of annoying that i have to ask him ALL the time to do things it could be as simple as picking up a piece of paper on the floor that he walked by 5 billions times but if i dont ask he dont do it. ...but he is a good father and when the little things get on my nerves i just think about how my daughter runs to him when he comes home and it always puts a smile on my face

I have to bribe my husband to do as little as watch "HIS" two year old daughter which admires her daddy, while I go to the store for dinner with my 12 year old son! That is the only time me and my son can have time by ourselves to talk. SAD :`{
The bribe works if it is a back message though!!! lol
Besides that, My husband works hard as much as me and I do not ask him to clean the house or cook. He loves cooking outside on the grill and sometimes cooks dinner inside. We do rotate on how tired each one is. He does take care of the baby when I can't during the night, He is great in getting her drink and he loves when she says "thank you daddy and smiles to him" and goes back to sleep! I don't ask much from him, but alittle my time and son time which is not fair to my 12 year old to tag her with us when he needs my attention too. Dad just doen't understand!!! |

I'm very fortunate to have a husband who comes home from work and encourages me to go out for "me" time. It's not every night he does this, but he'll make the offer when I seem stressed.

My husband is great. He works two jobs, about 60 hours a week and works from 5pm till 3am... and when he gets home from work he will get up with our daughter and change and feed her, and stay up with her until she's ready to go back to bed so that I can get enough sleep to get through the next day. I usually do all the chores, shopping and cooking, but it's well worth it to be a SAHM... and there's no way that I would ever say that I do more than him because I've worked 60 hours a week before, and I do not want to go back to that.

My husband is the best, he is always willing to help me out, he changes diapers, feeds the baby and plays with her with no problem. When i go out with my girlfriends, he watches our baby and doesn't complain.
