I had to wait until my son was six months old before giving him solids because until then he would take one bite and then vomit whatever he'd eaten for the last couple of ours. He has a really bad gag reflex and to this day (11 mos. old) he can't eat finger foods.

I waited for my last because we had some allergy issues with our first two. first baby had solids at 4 months and second could until after 18 because of a milk protein allergy. #3 started at 7 months

My son actually started eating solids at two and half months because he just couldn't get enough breast milk or formula. I produce a lot of breast milk, but it seemed he was just never satisfied until I started to feed him solids and he absolutely loves his food. Everyone thinks he is six months old, but he only just turned three months. It's because he just keeps growing and eating, what can I say my son loves his food.

I tried at 4 months but she wouldn't take it till about 6 months. She never had that big of an appeite so breastmilk kept her happy!

I tried about once a week from the time he was a month old but he had acid reflux and was on a perscription for it so every time I tried he threw it right back up. When he was about 6 months it finally stayed down and he only ate baby food for about a month before he realized that mommy and daddy had something different and he started eating anything and everything we ate from mashed potatoes to steak!!

I started my daughter about 3 1/2 months. Shes just a big girl and the bottle was not cutting it. She loves it though, especially sweet potatoes and squash. Bananas are a favorite right before bed too. I think it's up to each child though to let you know when they are ready for food. Some kids takes alot longer to be able to master the spoon.

W my son we tried at 4 months he was not ready so by 6 months we really did the solids. with my daughter we started rice cereal by 4 1/2 months nad then by 6 month we did solids. i started with veggies both kids. they like them(carrots, peas green beans) soon we will move to squash and or meats for my daughter.

I Breast feed both my kids til they were 6 months(about) of age. it was/is hard to keep up with them and work. esp when my job doesnt have many places or chances for me to go and pump..little to stressfull but i look at it this way.. they got 6 months of good ol' Breastmilk.

My husband and I went back and forth on this issue, he wanted me to wait until a year because he was worried about allergies and her gaining too many calories, then when we finally came to an agreement to start on solids at about 7 months (because she wasn't satisfied with bottles anymore) he insisted on me making all fresh home made baby food. ( this is more work than any mother of 3 should have to do!) she now eats both homemade and jarred baby food and is fine! She is 9 months now and we started her on finger foods and even scrambled eggs, sometimes you shouldn't give yourself more pressure then you really need to!
