We're not there yet. When he's ready I plan on doing the every 20 minutes with Pull Ups and praising him with hugs and kisses when he goes. |

my daughter potty trained at 2 years old and let me tell you it was the easiest thing we've ever done. All that happened was we were trying to make her go and all then gave it up for a month and then one day she walked up to my mom and said "I wanna go peepee in mommys bathroom" and that was it.. She has been using the big peoples potty ever since that day!! The funny thing is she never even used her little training potty and I spent so much money on it... dang!! |

Lots of praise seemed to work best for our son. |

I am not there yet with Morgan but I remember potty training my niece and the every 20 min worked with her. I remember giving her books and stuff so she would have something to do on the potty. It seemed to work with her (she is 8 now) Oh and it also worked with our dog too when she was a puppy so...LOL |

I think a combination of some of the choices is good. Sit him/her on the potty every 20 minutes (while in between giving him water), and praising when the job gets done....then pray he gets used to that habit before college! |

my daughter is 14 months and showing signs of interest so right now we are putting her on through out the day just to get her used to the idea and then we will do the every 20 min and maybe stickers or something if she has a problem with pooping on the potty. Right now though she prefers to sit on the big potty instead of her own with is fine with me cause that means I might not have to ever emty her chair...LOL |

I think pull ups are a waist of money. Kids know they are diapers. You can't fool them. I think a combination of several of the things listed work the best. I strip the kids down and put reg. underwear on them for a week. I leave the bathroom open and tell them to tell me when they need to go. I also take them every 20min to 1/2 hr when i go. It works like a charm. I have all the kids trained in a week or less. You can let a girl run naked but boys have to have underwear on the first time they pee with out them they realize how fun it is. You can't let that lesson be learned..lol But girls don't like to pee down their legs.... |

our personal situation was that our oldest is 3 1/2 and he just got potty trained ...we didn't even bother training him until this past May because he had surgery on his foot in Febuary...anyway He is completely potty trained now! (except night time) what worked for us was he would dit down to pee and one accidental peeing on my leg I turned into a game (yea gross I know but you can't make them feel bad about it) so then he saw daddy pee and now he's been clean and dry and in big boy undies for 2 weeks now wanting to pee like daddy.
we gave him a small toy / sticker each time at first then a toy per week, now we're going to give him "prize dollars" print our own money and give him 1 per day that he stays dry & we are going to do the same for eating better too!
now to get his little brother (almost 2) potty terained! :P |

well with my daughter she trained herself right before she turned one. she just took off her diaper and told me she wants panties and she never had an accident. my son was a lot harder at 2 1/2 he still was not showing signs of wanting to use the potty but we were doing the every 20 min thing after 4 months of no luck we gave up and decided to wait untill he turned 3 as soon as he turned 3 he started going on the potty with out us even saying anything yet. with my youngest son we will wait untill he is showing signs of it or untill he turns 3 if they are not ready then they just wont do it untill they are thats my opnion about it |

My kids just started going when they were ready. My sons were potty trained sooner than most of their peers that way. My daughter started working on it when she was about 18 months. Now she is 26 months and almost entirely potty trained.
Just remember, everyone gets potty trained somehow before they go off and get married. And if they don't--that's their SPOUSE'S problem :-P |

my daughter was forced to be potty trained lol we had to put her in daycare and daycare only accepts them if they are potty trained so i sent her to daycare in regular under wear hopin she wouldnt pee all over herself...so the first few days she had a few accidents but she caught on really fast i noticed if i put i diaper on her she would pee in it. so i just skiped the pull ups and went straight to underwear. worked great! |

I stayed home for 2 days, took off my daughter's shorts (which she was doing already, hence the signal to "potty train me") and moved the potty to whichever room she was in. When she may have felt a little trickle on her leg she b-lined for the potty which was always a short distance away! She was rewarded with an m&m for good work! Worked like a charm! |
