My son is 8 months and still nursing great. He has one tooth that has come through and the other one is right behind it. I thought it might be a challenge with teething, but he hasn't "really" hurt me yet. haha So I am planning on nursing until he starts weening himself.

My daughter just turned 8 months yesterday and still going strong. She's getting her 3rd and 4th teeth though so we'll see how that goes. She's bitten me a few times already but realized that was a "no-no" real quick when she saw my facial expressions and I turned her away from me. I plan on trying to nurse her until she's a year old.

I'm still nursing at 9 months. I plane on nursing until one of us decides we're done. She now has 5 teeth and only nips me when she's not really interested in eating, I really don't think she's doing it on purpose. I don't think she's used to having teeth in her mouth yet! I just know I don't want to have to pay for formula!! Its too expensive! Besides with how active she's getting its some of the only times she'll cuddle with me and who wants to give that up?!

I can't believe it but I am still nursing my 18 month old son. My daughter weaned herself when she was just a little over a year old. I was going to wean my son at about the same age but this flu season has been absolutely brutal!! I decided that we would get through the flu season before I wean him. When we go to his 18 month appt next week I plan on talking to his pediatrician on how it is best to wean an older child.

I wasnt able to produce any milk. So unfortunatly I didnt nurse at all. Although I tried and tried - I am not a big fan of formula but at least I have the alternative. Hopefully my with my next child I will be able to produce the milk.

My daughter is 15 months, and I have tryed to wean her for the past three. We got down to one feeding during the day and three at night. But the last couple weeks have been stressful so shes gone back up to about five a day, and four at night. She has six teeth and bites me all the time. I am really not enjoying it anymore, but I don't want to say no as long as I'm producing it. Hopefully she weans herself soon.

my son is 3 months and after tons of help from the lactation consultant in those first weeks (we had latch on problems and therefore a milk supply issue) we're doing great! i told hubby it would be till 6 months and then i'd consider the year but i love it so we'll see!

I'm still nursing my daughter at night when she wakes up. she's ten months, however her pediatrician recomended that I wean her. But I believe breast milk is better for her. sometimes she won't take the bottle during the day and I nurse her. I thought her teeth would be a little hard, but turns out I don't feel them!!

I couldn't make much milk so I combo fed and Piper was totally weaned at a little over a year. No wonder she is so healthy!! Mama's milk is the best!

I tried to nurse for 5 days and then gave up because my son was not having it. Formula really fattens up babies.

I was the only one of 3 children that was breast fed and I have the weakest immune system in the whole family.

I nursed my son for only a month. I was really young and he had problems latching on right and the hospital gave me a nipple guard to help me nurse since it was my first child and after a week he wouldn't nurse without it so after a couple more weeks he went to the bottle. (I do not recommend the nipple shields for anyone unless they have inverted nipples). I nursed my daughter until she was about 4 months thats when she decided she was done, but with her it was a much better experience and if we have more children I plan to nurse even longer! It's so much cheaper and you don't have to carry around bottles of water and formula and its much healthier for the babies in the beginning!

My daughter is 19 months old and still nurses. I will wean her when she is ready...she has cut back on the amount she nurses and I was told that they start to lose interest around 24 months...we will see:)

I exclusively pumped for my oldest until he was 6 months - I had to stop due to medical problems. My supply was affected by the meds I had to take. My baby is almost 5 months old, and I'm still pumping for him. I plan to do so until at least 12 months - I'd like to continue through the next winter, he'll be 18 months when I stop if I do that.

I dried up when Calista was 3 months old. I didn't really enjoy nursing anyway although I do wish I could've nursed her longer because breastmilk is better for babies. She is 5 months old now.
