Being an 'older mom' (having my first at 35), I wasn't sure how I would handle being a SAHM. However, I wanted to walk my talk, feeling that I"m the best person to raise my children. So I left my job.
Then I started working from home (www.creatinglight.net), and discovered I could have the best of both worlds!

I am a single, work from home mom with two toddlers. It was the best decision for me because day care costs were outrageous. The money I save keeping them at home with me while I work makes ends meet.

I was a SAHM for 8 mos with my first. I went back to work full time but in low stress job. I am now in a higher stress job and pregnant again. I will have to go back to work after this one but if I had it my way, I'd be a SAHM again. I agree, daycare costs are crazy!

I never was a SAHM until Aug. of 1999, MY whole life changed them...I worked for Ford Motor Co. until I was wrongfully discharged do to medical matters...I have had 17 surgeries, one leaving me with a major deformity of my upper lip, but soon to be corrected in just a few more months...I cannot wait either! But,I'm not saying that I don't mind being a SAHM but I do like to get out for sanity reasons that's for sure!

I am a SAHM and I absolutely think I couldn't have it any other way. My husband grew up with a SAHM and all of his aunts were also SAHMS, so it was taboo for him to send me back out into the workforce. I grew up with a working mom and to tell you the truth, there was a lot lacking in my childhood. So, I guess I'm glad to be able to stay at home with my little one and so is my husband.

when I first found out I was pregnant I decided I would be a SAHM for atleast a year then I would get a job, either at home or part time...I'm not sure if I really want to quit being a SAHM tho...I love it, I love spending so much time with my little man. I guess we'll see where god points me after Brandon turns a year old.

I work part-time out of the home and part-time in the home during Danie's naptime. When I went back, after 6 mos, I took a job with much less responsibility and set hours. I'm thankful to have something outside as a break and only recently have less ambivalence about leaving him. I've been back to work for 7 month.
