We are doing about 4-5 each child. They are getting some from others as well, which makes it alot. I don't want them to think that is the most important thing about Christmas, is presents. Also, my son's birthday is a week after x-mas, and gets even more gifts. Limits are good. |

I wish I could say that we make our gifts for each other like they did back in the "good old days" ...the simpler times. After all, our daughter is only 2-1/2. Still, her dada was in Iraq this year, so we overindulged (again). It seems we always have an excuse to over do it. Oy! |

Last year was our daughters first Christmas and we wanted to make it special, and we moved to a new town away from grandparents. Right now she is an only child but if we have more I am sure we will put a limit on it so that it is fair to every one. |

I have 4 children and we always get 3 gifts for each child and a stocking. The reason 3 is to represent the 3 gifts given to the baby Jesus from the 3 wise men. We make Christmas about giving but we stress more the religious side of the holiday and why we celebrate it to begin with. They do also get other gifts from other family members and eachother too. |

Our children get one gift from us, 1 from Santa, and one from each other. We don't want to over indulge them & make it so they don't appreciate even the small things. Last year our 4 yr old wanted a nutcracker doll & we ecstatic when she received a $1 nutcracker from Santa! It is so nice when they truly love whatever present they are getting & you know it is not going to be thrown off to the side a day later. |

I like to get my two boys at least 5 gifts each. It's so exciting for them and us as well to have so many presents under the tree. Plus my husband and I both come from split families so they have four grandmas and four grandpas plus my mema is still living and she adores the two of them and they are her only great grandkids so she tends to really over due it. |

I always a lot of gifts from Santa and relatives so I want to make the holiday season great for my two children. To me there is no such thing as too much during the holidays!! I also make sure to donate gifts from all my family members to kids who might not get something to sort of balance out what we do at home.I want everyone to be able to have something under their tree!! |

Our pastor did this, so we started it with our family: if 3 gifts were enough for Jesus, they are enough for each of us. |

I have never really counted the number of gifts I give my daughter. I usually buy until I think it is enough. She is not picky. And I do believe there can be a point when there is too much she receives. However, she was the only child for 5 1/2 years. Now my son is here. This will be his first Christmas. His birthday is Dec 31st. So I am too excited this Christmas! Not to mention this is my favorite holiday!!! I am going to give more thought into the 3 gift idea. I never thought about it that way. I do believe that is going to be our new tradition. Thank you for the idea! |

I never actually counted but always try to get as many as we can afford. Its deff over 5. I love how they light up opening them and hate for it to end too soon. HOWEVER I'll have my 4th baby soon an two of my 3 kids are december birth babies so its TIGHT an birthdays are usually the smaller of the two since christmas is a family holiday. |

We get them about 2 or 3 it depends on how much the toys cost. We have been asking family to buy our kids bonds instead of alot of expensive toys since the toys only last so long and the bonds will last them until they get in their 20's maybe longer. I had some when I was younger and they came in handy when I didn't have enough money to pay my rent. |

We are doing 4 from us and 4 from santa and stockings. Christmas Eve opening one gift and stocking. This is the first year we are loosely following the something you need, something you want, something to wear and something to read. Might cut it down as they age putting more focus on the real reason for the season. They usually don't get much through the year maybe I should buy more the rest of the year. We don't have relatives that shower or spoil them. |
