Sitting down as a family to eat is important, I think. Not only is it polite and satisfying, but it also teaches proper behavior to our children. Not everyone has the time, with schedules different and all, but making at least one night a week is great.

I really enjuy sitting down as a family to eat so I can catch up on how my husband's day went and what he plans on doing that night.

I grew up having sit down dinners every night as a family. I believe it is extremely important, however my DH works nightsso we do not get that chance. I really hope his schedule changes so we can have this experience as a family:)

I think dinner together is very important. I grew up this way and I want my family to do this at home. It is a good time to connect as a family and talk and enjoy good food.

I eat every meal with my kids, sitting at the table (except for special "picnic" days). My husband joins us for dinner (he works nights, so sleeps during the day.

I grew up eating sit down meals three times a day with my mom and sibblings and dad when he was home. Now that I am married we at least eat dinner together but we have started eating lunch as a family now that he gets to come home for lunch and our daughter is old enough to understand. There are the special nights we eat in front of the tv watch a movie together, I think that those are just as imortant.

every night, even if its just pb&j sandwich. We sit at the table, eat and talk about our days. We use to eat in the living room watching tv but we decided that it just wasn't working so we changed and we both like it

We try to do it as often as possible but it is usually every evening for dinner. I think it is so important because this is a great time to interact with the kids and they really open up about what is going on in their life at school and with their friends. I think it is very important to know what the kids are being exposed to and how they handle every day life.
Plus it is a great bonding time and they look forward to it everyday!

We sit down to dinner every night. My DH and I think it is very important for our son to see us talking about our days and stuff. He is two and thinks it is great to have both mommy and daddy together.

We usually have dinner as a family every night as my husband works so he cant make it to lunch :< But on weekends we have all our meals on the table and make a fun 'event' out of it. Its important as it teaches kids discipline and table manners and respect and it will stay with them forever as kids learn fast and remember all the good and bad things!

Never. It's a really bad habit that I believe I would like to break.

Family meals are very important to me. My thinking? In the wild, food to animals is survival. To share food is to sacrifice yourself for another. So in the wild, sharing food is LOVE. As refined as we believe we humans are; I feel that thinking is still engrained within our genetics.

When I prepare a meal, and we share at the table, we are loving one another.

I lovingly prepare meals for my wife. She pauses between bites to feed our daughter. Everyone is giving of themselves. I love our family meals!

I wish we could do sit down dinners. My husband works the night shift as an officer so dinners are out. We do try to do lunch together as often as possible if he is awake or doesn't have court :0)

My husband goes to school FT, and doesn't get home until late two days a week. But we make it a point to always sit down together for dinner - when he isn't home, I still sit at the table and eat dinner with the kids. I'm a firm believer in eating dinner together - even as they get older, I'm hoping it will encourage open dialogue and close relationships with our kids.
