While I think that most moms do neglect themselves, I don't think it's a great idea. Take care of yourself first, so you can care for others.

I would love to only take care of myself and put myself first, but it doesn't work that way when you have children. My thought is, this is the time for my children, and when they get older I will make time for myself more so. Don't get me wrong, I do make some time just for myself, but it doesn't always happen.

I don't think moms neglect themselves because they feel guilty about doing something for themselves. I think it's because we are so busy making sure our families are loved, safe, and healthy that there's just no more time left. Especially if a mom has another job.

I find myslef feeling guilty for wanting to get away from my daughter for just a little while... but someone once told me that a happy mommy makes a happy baby!! so i take every opportunity i get to do something for myself as well.

I neglect myself in order for my son to get most of it. But also I would like a night away from the child and the husband.

I love my family very much and I believe in family first, however I have learned thru a many hardships that if I am unhappy then it shows therefore my family would be unhappy.I make sure to give myself at least 2 hours a day for myself. And every week I have one entire day to do what I want:sleep in,get my hair done,go out with friends, basically whatever I wat to do that particular day.I am very fortunate to have a very caring and understanding husband.

I hope parents don't feel guily about having so "me" time. Having some time set aside for myself makes me a better parent to my children. I'm happier and have a greater level of patience.
