Nothing yet, my son is only 17 months old. The tooth fairy will probably leave cash for his college education. |

My son's "Tooth Fairy" has not had the chance to visit him yet but when she does she will leave money like my "Tooth Fairy" left me. |

My son is too young to have lost any teeth yet but when he does I'm sure the tooth fairy will leave cash. ;) |

One evening when the tooth fairy was a little low on cash, change, or anything resembling money, my son lost his first molar. Big tooth and he expected big reward.
So rather than go beg cash from the neighbor, the tooth fairy gave him two pens, a notepad, and a book sock (that Santa had stashed away as a stocking stuffer) from my son's favorite college football team, the OU Sooners! He was thrilled!
CREATIVE mythical childhood friends are very important! |

I always got a note from the tooth fairy congratulating me on a job well done at something. I also got a special treat for after dinner. I remember this stuff more than any money my parents could have given me. So, that's what I'm going to do with my kids. |

We don't encourage the tooth fairy for our kids. When their teeth start to come out, we will give them something for it, but we will tell them the truth. Our daughter is autistic and any change is dramatized for her. Telling her a story that isn't real and she finds out that it isn't would be horrendous and we would loose her trust in us. |

When I was a kid my grandma always left me a quarter under my pillow and said it was the tooth fairy. I am supprised that I never woke up and caught her. |

Inflation is a horrible thing. When I was younger I heard that kids got a quarter (my family too dysfunctional). A quarter won't even get them something out of the gumball machine. I usually give what I have. A couple of dollars. Once I only had a five so he got lucky. |

I usually got a note the night I lost it then if I still remembered and asked I would get something a few nights later. When I got older I while going through my memory boxes getting ready to move out on my own as a parent I found stuffed in the bottom several baggies containing notes and tiny teeth. My mom had saved almost every tooth I had lost it was cute and a little wierd. Of course I will do what I can to encourage my sons imagionation but I hope to make it about tha magic not the money. |
