I did Curves this spring for about 4 months, but it did not help much. I think I am going to try jazzercise. Wish me luck

UGH! Exercise, the word makes my body ache just thinking about it. I know I should do it and I really do want to start, but it's just the matter of finding something that works for me and the motivation to do it. I've never been a really heavy or unhealthy person, so the thought of exercise never entered my mind till I had my son, my third child. I was a size 0 when I got pregnant with him and a size 3 when I got pregnant with each of my girls. Now I'm in a size 8-9 and it's ok with me but man wouldn't I like to tone up a few areas. Anyone got some ideas for workouts that are kid friendly? How fun would that be, to work out with the lil ones and show them how to be healthy?!

I've got nothin' for ya Danae.. I've got no ideas. I hate exercising.. I'm not creative, and I don't exercise. BUT, I want to start. I want to get back into shape like I was before I had Levi.. I just haven't done it yet..

I love it. Have not since my son was born, but plan on starting again soon.

I have to say that as far as exercise that is great for toning and can even be modified to do with your children is Yoga, I love it (although like every exercise I hate it while I am doing it but it really helps) it is great for strength tone and even helps you drop a little weight.

Yeah, Yoga is great but here's what works for me: We have a local rec. center that my kids love to go to. They have a track so my girls like to run with me or they'll play games while I exercise. At home we pretend we're making an exercise video and we take turns being the instructor (this is where the toning comes into play). You'd be surprised at how fun kids think squats and lunges really are (and its great for your butt and thighs). They also like to see who can do more crunches. Sometimes local gyms offer childcare hours, the kids can play while you shape up. Alot of times there are moms just like us that don't really wanna be there, this is a great chance to find a workout buddy for that motivation we need! Good luck ladies!

I always feel good if I run in the morning, it gives me more energy. I'm pregnant right now so I've been trying to walk. I was too tired to do any exercise for a while there (1st trimester) and I felt bad that I couldn't exercise daily. I want to stay in good shape and teach my children the importance of exercise.

before my daughter, I used to distance run, and wow-what a rush it can be (though I am not fast)! I am not in the same shape I was, but walking throughout my pregnancy and soon after delivery has made it less difficult to ease back into a routine, because the habit has been there for years. The intensity is not up to that level yet, but even walking or jogging feels so good. The more you do it, the more you WANT to do it.

My hubby, son and I walk everynight around our neighborhood. It totals about 1 1/2 miles. Well, ,my son sits in the stroller but it helps him fall asleep better! And hubby and I both feel great!

I know its terrible, b4 I got pregnant I was super fit...I would run 2-5 miles a day, unbelievable ammounts of pushups and situps and lunges, I was a machine. Now even the thought of running makes me cringe. Its terrible bc I really need to lose this baby weight and be fit again:( If only I had a partner to get me motivated!

I love to exercise, but finding the time to do it with 3 kids is very hard.

i loved exercising......i havent done it since i lost the baby but i am starting back up.....when i was doing it i loved the eliptical and trying to beat my best from the last time.not too mention is was a nice sanctuary away from the husband, the kids and issues going on....i was able to think about things and have an outlet for stress.....but im the type of person i cant go with someone because they dont run as long or do some of the stuff i do and i usually give into what they do and jip myself out of a good workout....i tend to me motivated when go by myself

I don't like to exercise by myself. Therefore I don't do it. The only exercise I get is walking.

My husband and I try walking around our neighborhood in the evening it is about 1/2 mile around so we like to do it twice depending on the time, weather and my daughter (she loves being outside and in her stroller) . I would like to do a litlle more to lose the baby wieght before we try for a second baby so I don't have twice as much to work on later.

I love the energy boost it gives me! "Parents" magazine makes a dvd of excercises you can do with your kids. I started the baby one when my son was about 6 weeks old and he wakes up every morning now and goes and gets the dvd for me to put in. He loves it and it's really beneficial

I like exercising indirectly by swimming and basketball and hiking, then you don't think about it as exercising!!!
