My children are 13 months apart. They definately act like brother sister and keep testing one another along with my patience. The days are challanging from one minute to the next. Although, I must say I love them no matter how much they push and pull themselves and I.

I lose it sometimes, but it is always almost directed to my significant other, hardly never at the kids.

Yes, I am guilty of a few unfounded time-outs and I have raised my voice when I should have taken the extra moment to explain why I'm upset and why its so important to listen to mommy. I try SO hard not to yell or say harsh things to my daughter but I sometimes end up slipping in the heat of the moment. Sometimes I'm big enough to say I'm sorry.

I have found that when I am close to my limit, I tell my little girl, "PaPa needs a time-out".

It is amazing how quickly she caught on and now announces when she needs a time-out!

Being quick to apologize to her when I say something I shouldn't has yielded similar results on her part.

Life is so difficult with so many different factors. Sometimes when I have too many things coming at me at one time and my kids refuse to do anything I ask them is when I find myself losing my temper. I have three and all under 5 years old, so none of them can really help out. It doesn't help at all when you can consider your husband another one of your children!!! When I get to that point I just look into their little faces for a few moments and those big eyes always cool me down!!!

Well, I was abused as a child. So I have to get up everyday and tell myself that I am a good mom, and live up to that. Some days I yell. But I have never beat my kids and that is an accompllishment because the statistics are not in my favor. I just choose to control myself and my life. I refuse to let my past control me. And honestly, I love my kids so much I couldn't imagine hurting them. They are so dang cute!!!!!

I usually take my frustrations out on my fiance instead of our children..thank god he's understanding...I never want my kids to see me get angry the way my parents got angry with my siblings and myself.

Regardless of what any one says no ones perfect especially not me. Its perfectly normal to get heated...but I have never lashed out at my son. Life isnt that serious. Enjoy every moment. Even the bad ones bc it could be worst....like not having the good or the bad moments.

Oh yes I have, sometimes she testes me and I do not hold back I do lash out, like Rena said no one is perfect and it is normal, just make sure your not causing bodily harm, it is ok to show them that mommy has her days just like they have theres :P

i usually stay pretty stern without loosing my temper. and the very few times that i have lost it my 7 1/2 year tries to calm me down. he will rubb my back or say "mom why are you yellin? you are too made, you need a HUG." see, thats why i LOVE that lil boy soooo much.

More toward my husband than my daughter but those days when nothing makes her happy, I have to say that my patience is being tested... I hope that my record is a good one!
