CREAMY SAUERKRAUT BRATWURST TOPPING

Makes: 18 servings (3 tablespoons each)
INGREDIENTS
1 can (16 ounces) sauerkraut, well drained
1 small onion, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
3/4 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/2 cup thousand island dressing
2 cup shredded swiss cheese (8 ounces)
INSTRUCTIONS
mix sauerkraut, onion, half-and-half, mayonnaise and dressing in 1.5 to 2.5 quart slow cooker
cover and cook on Low heat setting 3 to 4 hours
stir in cheese
cover and cook about 15 minutes or until melted
serve as a topping for bratwurst or as a spread for rye cocktail bread
topping will hold on Low heat setting up to 2 hours; stir occasionally
