horror/paranormal mystery--3 stars. fourth book in the Anita Blake series. I didn't like this book as much as the first three books in the series for two reasons. First, I thought it was painfully obvious who the bad guys were from the instant they were introduced. Secondly, Anita spent way too much time wallowing about her relationship. I thought it was pretty annoying. One very positive thing I will say about this addition to the series is that it was very clear that the author was doing more research about the various beings and things her characters were encountering. It made for a much more enjoyable read. I will definitely be continuing to read this series.
