urban fantasy--2 stars. sixth book in the Retriever series, follows Free Fall. If you haven't read the other five books in the series, don't bother with this one. Probably at least half of this book depends on the reader knowing the characters and events of the other books. Even the central plot absolutely depends on it. I feel like the author got tired of these series and just threw a bunch of stuff together and called it a story so she could tie up the series and move on to other projects.
