urban fantasy--4 1/2 stars. sequel to Wicked Game. When I first picked up Wicked Game, I didn't think I would like it. Smith-Ready has an extremely unique take on the vampire genre that I didn't think I would bite (ha ha), but I have enjoyed other things she has written, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was totally amazed! This story is a fantastic second installment to the series with freakishly believable characters (especially considering that some of them are vampires "stuck" in the time they were turned in. I know--huh? Right? But she makes it WORK!) and a strong plot with plenty of twists that make you wonder what on earth could possibly happen next! I understand that there is to be another book in the series released in 2010 and I very much look forward to it!
