free mentoring for girls

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a great free opportunity.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit organization that matches children in one-to-one mentoring relationships with caring, responsible adults. Our program provides mentors to any child who wants one at no cost to the child. The children we provide services to are in need of a positive role model and need a little extra guidance and support.

Recently, we have had an influx of female volunteers who would like to be Big Sisters in our community-based program. This means that we are able to match girls, ages 6-14, very quickly. This matching process can take up to two years normally. Girls in our program are less likely to start using illegal drugs and alcohol; they perform better in school and get along better with their families and peers.
