mommy and me therapeutic process group.

Hi I am a LCSW , Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and will be starting mommy and me classes. They will focus on issues confronting new mothers and will be looking at the developmental stages of your child and the best way to ensure your child is reaching their developmental milestones and psychological needs. It will also focus on the many new challenges and shifts in one's life related to becoming a mother and all the systemic changes in one's life- often excitement and some losses. Half of the time will be spent on educating the new parent and the second half of the group will be spent exploring issues brought up by the mommies. This group will be somewhat like a therapeutic process group. There will be six classes- comprising two birth months. The first group will be for babies born in the months of April 09 and May 09 and the next group will be June 09 and July 09. This group will be informative and exciting . It will be an hourly group one time per week and it will be a great way for you and your new baby to meet and develop, hopefully, enduring relationships.
