HOOT OWL stands for Husbands Out Of Town Or Working Late. A hoot owl is also known as a "work widow". This is a support group for mothers and wives whose husbands travel or work late on a regular basis (not just once in a while). We recognize that it can be hard when your spouse is gone all the time so we get together in the day, evening and/or weekends with our kids and sometimes without.
This group is meant to be a place where women can lean on each other for conversation, camaraderie, help and advice. It's a place where you won't be judged for sharing your burdens and thoughts, and it's a place for encouragement and new ideas for coping in this ever-popular family dynamic.
Unlike most playgroups who only visit during the day we include weeknights- the bewitching hours between 5 and 8pm. We can visit for dinner at our home's or at restaurant's . We're open to pretty much anything to help the time go by and we would love to feel connected in this fast paced world where parenting can become so isolating.
