We are parents that live in and around the St. Charles area. We are moms and dads and grandparents that have the same goals in mind: meeting other parents and making friends for ourself and our children.
We meet to talk about our kids, let them play and have fun! Our goal is to build lasting friendships for our children as well as ourselves. We, as parents, know that we do a better job when we are not stressed and tied to the house all the time. This meetup group gives us a change to get out of the house, let our kids play and let's us talk with other adults!
We have activities planned for kiddos of all ages during the week and special "Break from Kiddos" events planned at least once a month. We are a casual group who like to share experienecs, get advice, give support and make new friends.
Most of our events take place during the weekday, though we do have the occasional weekend or weeknight. If you have any outside-the-box ideas, please don't hesitate to suggest! This is not a SAHM-only group! Many of our members are stay at home parents but many also work full time or parttime. We try to have activities for everyone.
Kids are included in all events, unless specifically noted. Obviously, "Break from Kiddos" is just that- a break from your kids!
If courage is the knowledge of what is not to be feared, there is nothing like becoming a parent to help us prioritize and recognize how trivial many of our fears are compared to what really matters.
It is a very helpful experience to realize that you're not alone, dealing with problems; that you have someone there who has similar experiences and therefore is very empathetic and very capable of being supportive. So the common thread there is your child and the problems that they have and how you have to cope with them.
And that's what we are here for!
