For parents/caregivers in Wayne County Michigan who are looking to socialize their children 0-3 years of age in a playgroup setting and for one-on-one attention with the PAT (Parents As Teachers) home-visits that I am affiliated with--through The Guidance Center.
Playgroups & my office is based out of the Taylor Community Resource Center inside of the EurekaDale Head Start Building (about 1 mile from Southland Mall.) These are FREE groups. We focus on developmental topics suited for your children's ages, fun activities geared towards social-emotional, cognitive/intellectual, fine and gross motor skills, and language. Groups also include music (which include our own Mr. Andrew who plays guitar) singing, dancing, and literacy promotion by reading a story. There is also a snack provided at the end of group. Coffee for the parents!!!
Home visits include meeting the needs of you and your child(ren) 0-3, by making sure that they are meeting their milestones and preparing them for school in the future. These visits are visits and families qualify for up to 2 years of visits or until the child is 4 years of age. These visits are 1 hour a month in the comfort of your own home (1.5 hrs for 2+ children.) We will focus on social-emotional topics, fine/gross motor skills, developmental topics, intellectual/cognitive topics, and language in these home visits. These can vary depending of individual needs of child and family. However, they may include, but are not limited to: arts and crafts, games and puzzles, reading, and building activities. These are visits for ANYONE; which doesn't necessarily mean your child has to have any sort of delays.
Playgroups Meet 3x a week at the Headstart--CRC room.
Mondays-12:30 pm
Tues&Wed-11:30 am.
Groups are all 1 hour long.
**Individuals who are getting home visits had the choice of selecting morning or afternoon hours.**
