How old is your son? If you have him evaluate for speech delay make sure it is some highly recommended.

My son (now 6) didnt really talk til he was almost 3. Went thru the whole eval process and he did playgroups n stuff. since he started talking i dont think hes stopped. They say alot of times kids get so into physical development and speech comes later.

Check out early on through the school. Its a wonderful program to help kids with speech delays.

I would have him evaluated. It is usually free and they can tell you if there are problems and if he qualifies for therapy. Our state has an early intervention program for kids under 3. Check with the county you live in. Better to do something than to wish you did.
