Indecisive 6 yr old

My 6 yr old daughter is forming a serious issue with being indecisive. The worst is in choosing clothes. She gets extremely upset and it eventually leads to what I can only describe as a panic attack. Other examples are I took my 4 yr old and 6 yr old to a store and said they could pick one thing each. My 6 yr old left with nothing because she couldn't make a decision. On weekends we can spend 1-2 hours and she still cannot decide what to wear and she gets extremely upset. I try to limit the decision to 2 items but this doesn't work. I'm not sure if this is an age issue or something more serious. Any advice is welcome!

I know exactly what you are talking about. My daughter is 5 and we have the same issue. I no longer give her choices for clothes i just set them out for her so there is no choice it was a daily battle, we do still have meltdowns at the store and mostly leave without anything for her because she can not decide. My son is 3 and we have no issues with him on decision making. I noticed that she was having so much trouble making decisions that i finally stopped getting her things if she is not offered anything at the store three or four times than the fifth time we go she knows exactly what she wants because she has went without. I told her that if it is so hard for her to decide than that must mean she has to much to choose from and some kids would be happy with anything. I know they say to give your children options and let them choose but when dressing takes an hour i say throw the choice out the window and you get what you get...:)
