Winter indooor temperature

Hey, this question is for Southern State mom's mostly.

My husband and I have never used the heater or ac in Texas inorder to save money. However, this summer we used AC because I was pregnant and it was unsafe to not use it.

My question is, when should we use the heater for baby? I feel that our house should always be between 70-80 degrees since we live in a hotter climate and she's only 2 months old (at least the first year)? My husband seems to feel that if we just wrap her in a bunch of blankets she'll be fine, but I know this increases the risk of SIDS.

Please let me know what you all are doing? This is our first baby and she doesn't have grandparents to ask, so we are doing it mostly on our own and the only pediatrician in town covered by her insurance isn't friendly.

Thanks,

~Sheaunna~
