Home from prison

I came home after being gone for over a year and my children ran to me and gave me huge hugs. I missed them a lot while I was gone but I wrote weekly and called daily. My children went through alot of changes including being with different members of my family. I want to reestablish the relationship that I had with them before I went. And put this past year and 1/2 behind us and let them know that I didn't leave because I don't love them. That none of this is their fault. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can not swipe out the past like it did not happened, it is great that you want to move forward but talk about the pain and the sorry you felt to be without them so they feel that you understand their pain.
Take them for stroll in the park and engage them in activities they enjoy so that you can reconnect with their lives.

Good luck!
