naps

Hi!  Everytime I lay my 7 month son down for his nap, he cries until I hold him.  He only falls asleep in my arms.  Then sometimes I can put him down but most of the time he cries.  I can't let him cry it out and I didn't know if anyone else had this problem.

I have this problem with my ten month old and if you don't want to let him cry it out (same with me) then you've got a lot of work ahead of you :) there's two books that I bought on sleeping babies and they're both great!!!
1) no cry sleep solution by elizabeth pantley
2) the baby whisperer solves all your problems by tracy hogg
I never realized that even the smallest "bad" habit you are doing could influence your baby's sleep! I let him play in his crib to see that it was a comfy, safe, fun place and I also started rocking him to sleep with a plush toy, which he now associates with sleep. I'm still a long way from a good sleeping baby, but these two books were fantastic for info!!!

What helped me and my husband was to read and follow "Healthy Sleep habits, happy child" By Marc Weissbluth. I understand how difficult it is to hear your child cry, however is just part of the training. I always try to remember that I am teaching my child to become independent.\, and to discipline and sooth his own self. Be aware that if you follow the book, the crying may get a little worse before it gets better!!!! But it DOES WORK. And it may take only 2 to 3 days. It depends how good you follow the book!!!!
I wish you the best!!
