any suggestions? sensitive sleeper!!!

I have a nine month old son and I'm not sure if we've all spoiled him (me, my husband and my in laws) but he is extremely difficult to put down for his naps during the day. When I mean put down, I mean that I can rock him to sleep easily, but trying to put him in his crib, on a bed, or anything that is not someone's arms is impossible!! my father in law actually lays down in bed and my son naps on his chest for half an hour.once, I tried to put him down in his crib for his nap and three times my son woke up and started screaching, I eventually caved and sat in the living room with him in my lap....at night he wakes up every 2-3 hours until we bring him into our bed. I find it hard to do housework or just relax because it feels like I'm always holding him or sleeping beside him.please help!

My son slept much better once he could sleep on his belly. During the day I would keep an eye on him if he was in that position.
However, it is normal to sleep better if you feel cozy!

I had the same problem w/ my daughter. I always held her to put her to sleep and she got used to it. She would usually cry when I laid her in her crib, but when I got tired of holding her and just couldnt do it anymore I would just stand by the crib and rub her back until she was asleep again, which sometimes took a while for her to be fully asleep, but it was worth it b/c then I could get things done. She would still prefer to be held when shes tired (and shes 2 1/2 NOW) but she has been doing really well just laying down and wanting to hold my hand or have me rub her back. But she does still wake up and get in my bed sometimes and Im just too tired to get out of my bed and put her back in hers, so she stays till morning. (i know im not a good example)

I guess I'll have to try to rub his back during his daytime naps because we live in a basement apartment so I don't want to wake the whole house up!! thanx for your thoughts you guys!
