This is my third child, so I have done this before successfully. However, I have a 3-1/2 year old boy who has got to be the most "potty resistant" child I have ever met. I don't now if it is stubbornness or what. He hates to have his hands dirty or to even have a hair on them, but he would sit in pee and poop all day and could care less. I have acted as if I didn't care whether he went to the potty or not, but this is really starting to become embarrassing. I have tried all the tricks. I have praised him, stickers, potty charts, let him pick out his own potty, cherrios, peer support, etc. etc. Anything and everything that worked for my other two children has not worked with him. I guess I need a pep talk. I don't know whether to just give up and go back to diapers for a while or if that will make it even worse, i.e. that is what he wants, diapers. HELP! Any advice??? |
