Working mom... |
I am a working mom, I work from 10 - 6 (or so) Tuesday-Friday & I feel like I miss so much. It makes me very sad to think I will probably miss some of his firsts. (rollover, crawling, walking, etc). Can any other working moms give me any advice on what I can do so I won't think I'm an aweful mom? I feel aweful that I work. |

What I did was.... I told the daycare providers that I DID NOT want to know about the "firsts". That way, in mine mind, I was still experiencing all the firsts. As far as feeling guilty about working, that will pass, if you have a job that you love. I found that there is more resentment than guilt. I always said that I would not work full time and be a mother...but financially I have too. Thankgoodness I have a wonderful job, my sister own the pre-school my son attends and I was able to cut my hours back a little this past summer. Just enjoy the hours you have with him. That is what is important in his mind and drop the guilt at the door. Just because our mothers where home with us, did make the relationships better. |
