Bottle Feeding/Nipple Size
I use the Avent bottles, my son is almost 4 months old.  I have gone back and forth between the size 2 and 3 nipple.  With the size 2, it seems to take him a long time to eat, like 3o minutes to take 6 oz, and with the size 3, it takes him a short time, like 10 minutes, ans he seems to get a tummy ache, and cry.  Any suggestions? Should it take him so long to eat with the size 2?

It's better for your son to eat at a slower pace. My son uses slow flow nipples with his bottles and he does much better. I tried other nipples, but he ate too fast and would often choke or spit up afterwards. He already has a lot of tummy trouble so if it takes him a little longer to eat it's fine with me. Besides, we all seem to go through life in the fast lane and need to slow down. It will give you the opportunity for more closeness with you baby and who can't benefit from that?!

I'd stick with the 2's. It's better to take longer than for him to get a tummy ache. As long as he is not frustrated with the slower flow, it is better. My son gagged and spit up a lot, so we stuck with the 2's with Avent bottles until he was off the bottle altogether at 12 months. He never minded the slow flow, and handled it much better that way.
