Do you breastfeed? They say if you do you can wait till he's a year old. If he's still really hungry though you can add cereal to his bottled meal. It will help fill him up.

I breastfed my daughter until she was a year old. I still started her on cereal at 4 months and solids at 8 months. You shouldn't wait to long because they might not take to it as well. They should learn how to move food around in there mouth.

I have breastfed all of my children & started each on solids at different times depending on their level of interest. With all I introduced cereal @ 6 months & proceeded to either continue with it or stop & try again later depending upon their reaction.

I would say talk to your pediatrician about it & do what works out best for you & your baby! Good Luck!

I kept my babies on cereal & bottled food, as long as they wanted it. Everything was made to be healthy for babies. Lot's of fruit & vegetables. They went to soft food when they were ready. I did not introduce solids until they had 6-8 teeth. I introduced different stages when pediatricians recommended timelines-cereal, soft foods, solids, but even babies know when they're ready for things, those facial expressions make it very clear : ) You can only introduce their options, can't make them choose. God Bless.

First of all it depends on the child’s readiness. My son was having solids at 4 months and my daughter started closer to 6 and she has no interest in self feeding though she just turned 9 months old. Try starting off with a teaspoon of rice cereal and see how he does

i tried starting my daughter on solids at 4 months and she didn't take to it and then I tried again at 5 months and she still has not taken to it. I tried rice cereal at first and then at the 5 month mark i tried a teaspoon of apple sauce for her. She hasn't lost the reflex to push it out of her mouth yet. So, i figure i will try again at 6 months.

Each child is different. I am now trying to put her in her high chair if we are eating when she is awake so she gets the visual of us eating. She didn't show any interest in the food. and they say that is a sign as well. good luck
