Hello, I am trying to figure out the best way to handle my situation.. I am a single mother of 3 children.We haven't been through court yet to determine custody.. He doesnt call or want to see them unless its convenient for him, he doesnt make sure the kids have food to eat or clothes on their back.. He didnt go to any of our sons kindergarden activities or his graduation.. My Fiance is joining the Army in October, and we're getting married after he gets out of boot camp, which means i'll be able to go with him.. My concern is leaving the state, and their dad deciding he doesnt want that to happen, which he would do because we're happy with someone else.. I want to go and get custody of them, but i'm scared to incase I lose them to him.. I was convicted a felon 1 year ago..I took money from a credit union I was working at to get away from him.. I dealt with abuse from him for 3 years because I thought I was doing the best thing for my children, but towards the end he started hurting my children.. I wasnt going to deal with him knocking my sons teeth out, giving them alchol because they wouldnt go to sleep, leaving them at the house by themselves because he couldnt handle it, smoking weed around them.. I was able to deal with the abuse, but there was no way in hell I was putting my children through that.. Everything we had was in his name, I had no where to go, no one to turn to, so i took money... but now i cant find a job, and i dont want to go into court for custody and be laughed at because of my felon and not having a job.. I dont know what to do.. If anyone has any advice it would be really helpful..
