| Where to live around Gary, IN? |
| My husband is interviewing for a position located in Gary, IN. While this is quite preliminary (and most definitely premature), I have started looking at homes in the area. I don't know really where to start, except that I've been told to avoid Gary. If he takes the job, he would like to be within a 30 minute commute. I really need to know where the best public schools and safest, family friendly neighborhoods are so I can narrow my search. I've always found that the best resource for this type of information is other moms. I did find a lot of nice looking homes in Crete, Flossmoor, Country Club Hills and Steger. Also, there seem to be quite a few on the Indiana side in places like Crown Point, Munster and Merrillville. Any help or advice you can give is greatly appreciated.
