My 14mo old daughter just started walking a little over a month ago and up to this point I've had her in a shoe that's like a Robeez, slip on and soft-soled. I feel like since she's walking so much she needs a better shoe. I checked out the shoes at Stride Rite but man they look so clunky and not very pretty, oh yeah and cost so much! I will pay that much if it's necessary but are those the only shoes that are recommended for growing toddler feet? Where are other places that I can look to find good shoes?
I recommend Pedipeds. My daughter loves them and actually wants to put them on instead of pull them off. Plus they are incredibly cute! We get compliments on them all the time!
I was actually looking into Pedipeds and had a pair picked out but I just wasn't sure if it was a good shoe. It's hard to tell when you're buying online. They are really cute!! Are they pretty good outdoor shoes as well? Thanks for the advice!
We bought our new walkers Stride Rite's and no they weren't very pretty! When it is possible though, let her walk barefoot...this will allow the muscels of her feet to develop strength. Sometimes too much support creates lazy muscles!
I buy my son's shoes at Payless. He only wears each pair for a couple months, so I don't want to spend too much. I think the most important thing is that they fit well. Just take him in to the shoe store and have her feet measured. Then try both shoes on and let her walk around the store in them a little to see how she does with them.
Other than that, I agree that you should let her go barefoot whenever possible.
We buy our daughters shoes at walmart. The soft sole ones and she loves them but a friend of ours gave us the shoes her kids are out of and they are a harder sole and she walks better in the them but we only put them on when we leave the house other than that she goes barefoot.
