Showing obesity for educational purpose

Yesterday, my kids wanted a snack before dinner, it was a healthy snack, but I do not want them to eat sweets before dinner.  I went on the computer and show them images of obese kids. It was a bit disturbing but I think I proved my point that if you eat junk not only you become obese but also you can develop diabete. I made sure to explain that when you have diabete you get shots everyday! That last piece of information was more efficient than a 1000 words.

haha!!! That is funny..but true!!! Well, in some cases, with diabetes, you don;'t have to have shots, but you have to take a very large pill. My father has diabetes..

We have been very worried about this for a while now, the teachers at church give the kids candy a lot and my daughter, although only three, would probaly eat an entire bag, if we would let her!! Its sad! I try not to BUY ANYTHING with sugar in it for snacks.....(No sugar drinks like kool-aid, etc) but i do buy the capri sun waters... I also buy the pint size water and ahve been introducing my three and four year olds to more greens, and veggies and healthier foods.. im hoping it pays off in the long run!! GOOD THINKING!!!
