My 2 month old can't be put down... |
I have a 2 month old son that I literally have to wait until he is asleep before I can put him down. It seems that all he wants to do is eat or just be held, even then he gets fussy. I have tried all sorts of colic remedies and that doesn't seem to be the problem either. I also tried just letting him "cry it out", as my husband says. Even after about 5 minutes he's crying so hard, he ends up sweating and shaking. I also have my 21 month old that I feel I'm not spending enough time with. Does anyone have any advice on how to calm him down some? |

Have you tried white noise? Maybe put him in a carseat or bouncy seat near the dryer with the dryer running, or get a CD of white noise, or a bouncy seat that vibrates. You could also try an infant carrier or sling to carry him with you but have your hands free to do other things. |

I am a mother and also I have been a nanny for many years...I have found crying it out and white noise works the best...The nanny job I have right now,the little baby would cry it out with the sweating and everything but eventually he got the idea and now he falls asleep pretty well. You,as the parent have to be able to do this. Good luck! |

Hi, I definitely know the white noise, a sling, & vibration can help. I would also recommend a swing & a swaddling blanket (a non-velcro type), once u learn how to use it safely..it works great. I'm not sure if you've tried it before, but even if they seem resistant to the swaddle at first, they will like it once they're snuggled up. I did all these techniques for my son's first 5 months of life...they were lifesavers! Hope it works out.. |
