High-Need Babies, Scottsdale, AZ |
I am looking for parents/mom's of high-need babies to form a support group. I have a three month old beautiful, alert baby boy with an infectious smile who is a very high-need baby. He has to be held most of the day so I usually carry him in a sling. I can't put him in the stroller, co-sleeper, bassinett or car seat or he usually screams his little head off until picked up. It's pretty frustrating since I am tied to the house and I only make quick little trips to the store if I really need something. Very difficult to get anything done. I am envious of other moms who can take their babies to the mall and just enjoy the outdoors. If there are any other mom's like me who are in the same boat, let's try to meet, or at least offer support via e-mail. |

I was in the same boat as you about a year ago. My son would only sleep on me while he was taking his naps, but I knew that if he didn't stop, he was going to get use to it more. So I finally stopped and I know this is going to be hard at first, but eventually it will start to drive you nuts. Just let him cry a little. At first let him cry for about five minutes a day and then the following week try ten minutes and eventually he will get the hint that mommy can't hold you all the time. |
