I just heard recently that one reason for the increase of children diabetes might be related to vaccines. Do you know anything about it?

hi vero. i have heard the same thing, but the doctors i have taken raina to have told me that they haven't found a link to vaccines yet. most doctors say that it has to be a gene passed down, but no studies have proven that to be fact yet either. the barbra davis center for childhood diabetes in denver, co, has been studying this for over 20 years now. this is where we first took our daughter when she first became a diabetic. they were great at helping us with all our concerns. they even did genetic testing on our families to see if there was a link with our families,at no cost to us. there was no cost because they use the data in research studies. i have type 1 diabetes, since i was 16, and other members of my family have had diabetes, mostly skipping a gen. between family members. raina and i are the first time it seems to have gone from mother to daughter in at least 6 gens, most passing from father to grand-daughter or mother to grand-son.i hope some day they find a link, then they might even find a cure!
