Great idea for a healthy post-Halloween

My son's classmate mother could not stand her kids eating all the candies so she proposed her kids to leave all the candies for the mouse and in exchange the mouse will leave a present (!).

Even if  it implies buying a present it may save money at the dentist!

Our 5 year old does not eat candy. Only the "healthy" kind.

It's unfortunate, that parents introduce their kids at a very young age to "candy". My cousin is 12 years old, and needs to have his entire mouth worked on due to all the candy he has eaten over the years. His teeth are full of plaque, several teeth decayed, bleeding gums, and braces to align his teeth. Happy Halloween!!!!

We still have halloween candy left over 1.5 months later. She's allowed one sweet treat a day, and doesn't tend to waste it on candy when her favorite cookies are in the cupboard.

Halloween is as big an event at our house as Christmas or any other holiday, but I hate to see all the sugar it produces. I'm thinking of organizing a big candy-free halloween party next year. Hopefully it will be so much fun that the kids won't miss the candy. Think it will work?

Probably little toys and healthy cookies could make the trick!
