Here's a fun one- take a small paper bag outside and gather things from nature with your child- leaves, acorns, twigs, small pinecones, whatever you find. Then bring them in and make a collage on fall colored construction paper.

Use color bleeding tissue paper, cut it up in small pieces- maybe 1 or 2 inch squares, but you don't have to measure- it can be completely random and vary the sizes. "Paint" over it with water on white paper. The color bleeds and colors the white paper. When it dries, remove the tissue paper. You could do this for specific themes- use shades of orange and yellow on paper cut in a pumkin shape, for example.

Gather leaves and put them under a piece of thin paper, like newsprint or copy paper. Rub over them with the side of a crayon with the paper removed, using fall leaves' colors.

Oh....I have one!!! Take some leaves and place between to sheets of wax paper (same size rectangles) waxy sides together. Then place a WARM iron on both sides to melt the wax paper together. (rather quickly) DON"T let iron sit very long on it. Voila'....Placemats!

Also, have child trace they're fingers and hand with thumb out to the side. Yes, TURKEYS!!!!! After tracing, you can have them paste/glue paper or real feathers on. Put a google eye for the Turkey's eye, and don't forget to add the feet!!

As for Costumes????? My mom dressed me up as a Bag of Marbles once. She had me in a leotard, cut two leg holes in bottom of the bag and two arm holes. After it was on, she filled it with blown up balloons of all colors (use Ty-dye ones if you can find them) and closed the top with a scarf under my neck. Make sure it doesn't dangle....Don't want the child to choke!

Hope this helps and have fun!!!!!
