I started giving my son tastes of our food around 6 months. I started with tiny bites of foods that were soft and not too spicey. My son was enjoying finger foods at that age, so I would give him small pieces of well cooked pasta, whole peas, diced carrots and small pieces of green beans. I also gave him diced fruit. He Loved it.

i exclusively breast feed and my dr. told me to start giving food (hes 4 months) because he doubled his birth weight. i thought this was early but apparently it's not. all the books say that by six months you should start though. good luck
