Help! I'm an Internet Addict
OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!! The kids and I got home from Wal-Mart yesterday to find that our home phone (landline) had been disconnected!!! Let's see: paid the bill on time, provided some documentation they needed for the lifeline program, so what's the deal. Unfortunately, due to bad credit, we are going through a third party company instead of the main landline provider in our community. I called and was told they'd call me back yesterday evening or this morning. Now, I have problems with this account from the git-go. It took about 8 weeks to get our phone hooked up to begin with because we live on a rural route and don't have a 911 address yet. So they couldn't even get the computer to take the order until they figured out how to tell the computer where we are. Then there were 8 weeks (I kid you not) of me expecting a technician to come get us hooked up, and spending all day at home, and no one showing up or calling! And the phone number on our bill has never been the same as our actual phone number. We've brought it to their attention several times, to no avail. So this morning the YourTel rep calls me back and says there is some kind of problem with my account setup because of the different phone number, and her supervisor had suggested we get a new phone number and create a new account. She said it would be faster than trying to sort out the account problems. I said, "Fine, change it." So she was going to go work on that and call me back. About thirty minutes later, my phone rang! And it was Crystal! After I got off with her, I called YourTel to let them know it was already back on. Confession time: You may have gathered this before now but, my name is Kelly and I'm an Internet junkie. I was majorly out of sorts last night and this morning because I couldn't check my emails and my groups. There is a problem that bears close watching on a group I moderate, and I couldn't check in because I had no internet service through my dead phone line! I log my meals and snacks on Sparkpeople each day to make sure I stay within a "losing" calorie range - so I couldn't access that to see how many calories I'd already had and plan my evening meal and snack accordingly. On my website, www.kellylee.info I have listed the 12 Steps for Internet Addicts. But I couldn't look at them for comfort because they are stored on the internet that I couldn't access! Anywho - it's back on now and I am thrilled! I missed you all for the 18 hours we didn't have internet! I hope it never happens again!
